Story O’ The Day Game

Bored in your cube? Try this new activity to spark up your work day!

If you’re like me, and have a co-worker that repeats the same story over and over again to each new person they encounter, don’t fret! Make lemons out of lemonade, I say!

Steps to this new time-wasting activity (a 2 person activity):

1) Listen attentively in the morning, to deduce what the Story of the Day will be (and if you have a co-worker like mine, there is always THE story of the day.

2) Have all game participants guess the number of times aforementioned Story will be told today.

3) Have all participants keep a running tally of how many times actual story is told.

4) Loser has to buy winner their coffee/snack the next day, as well as go over to the Storyteller, and ask them “What’s new” (this part only if Story hasn’t already been told to them earlier in the day)

5) Great fun!

In case you were wondering, today I proved victorious, with my winning guess of 7! Poor, poor co-worker who is sitting in the Storyteller’s cube right now getting an approximately 23-minute earful. (Yes, you can time the story too, if you’re a more advanced player like us. It also helps if your Storyteller uses the EXACT same lines EACH time like ours does).
